The Fulbright Network in India serves as a vibrant hub for connection, collaboration, and community-building among U.S. Fulbrighters. From the moment you prepare for your grant to long after it concludes, these networks offer multiple ways to stay informed, engaged, and supported. Through alumni connections, social media groups and the Fulbright Google Group, grantees can tap into a wealth of shared experiences, practical advice, and collaborative opportunities. Whether you are seeking guidance, organizing events, or simply looking to connect with fellow Fulbrighters, these networks are designed to enrich your time in India and strengthen the global Fulbright community.
Prior to the arrival of the grantees, USIEF creates a “Fulbright to India” Google Group where Fulbrighters can share tips, experiences from past visits and trending topics of discussion for living in India with each other on a common platform. These topics can be very useful to grantees during their stay in India. The link for the Google Group will be shared before your arrival to India.

State Alumni is an online global community for all past and current participants of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs – including Fulbright alumni. Interactive, dynamic, and password-protected, State Alumni offers alumni a place to network, share ideas and stories, participate in Q&A Live discussions and access free valuable resources such as grants, jobs and research databases. The Fulbright Community on State Alumni brings together current grantees and alumni, while also supporting the programme’s worldwide professional network.
We encourage all our students and scholars to share about their work not just with their family, but within their network of friends, peers and other professional networks. Your stories, experiences, and insights not only inspire future applicants but also highlight the impact of the program to our partners and supporters. By sharing your work and cultural experiences, you contribute to strengthening the visibility and reach of Fulbright India across diverse platforms.
We also invite you to follow us on our social media platforms, where we regularly highlight stories from our grantees, important updates, and opportunities. When posting about your Fulbright experience, please tag us and so we can amplify your stories. Please use #Fulbright and #FulbrightIndia so that all of your posts are connected!
Note:
The U.S. Department of State policy reads: “Web-Based Media: Grantees who share their Fulbright experiences publicly via web-based media are responsible to acknowledge that theirs is not an official Department of State website or blog, and that the views and information presented are their own and do not represent the Blog or Fulbright Program or the U.S. Department of State. Any grantee who posts inappropriate or offensive material on the Internet in relation to the Fulbright Program may be subject to revocation or termination of their grant.”
