Fulbright to India Guide – 2021-2022

Travel to India

USIEF will arrange travel for all USIEF funded awards by the most competitive fare and the most direct route available, from the place of residence/work in the U.S. to place of affiliation in India.

Please contact the U.S. Program team at USIEF to work out your travel plans.  Send your proposed date of departure and the airport closest to your home.

Please read the Travel and Baggage Section for more information.

If a grantee wishes to book flight ticket on his/her own, USIEF should be informed immediately after signing the grant authorization sheet. USIEF will calculate the entitled airfare for the grantee’s travel and the grantee will be reimbursed upto the entitled fare once the travel is completed. Copies of flight ticket, invoice and boarding stubs must be submitted to USIEF for reimbursement of the flight tickets.

NOTE: The grantee must get the flight itinerary approved by USIEF before tickets are issued and the flight must be on FLY AMERICA ACT approved carriers. Also, please check the USIEF holiday list before booking your travel to avoid arrivals on Friday or a day preceding USIEF holiday.
